Vazhakkai Mezhukkupuratti - Kerala Style Raw Banana stir fry

Mezhukkupuratti, or Stir fry is a typical Kerala Style Stir-Fry and often made with vegetables like Raw Banana, Yam or any other vegetables. This raw banana sir fry is very flavorful side dish which goes very well with rice. Let's see how its done. Quick video below for easy reference Ingredients: Raw banana – 3 medium sized banana/plantain Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp Salt as needed Shallots – 5-6 (optional) Garlic – 5-6 cloves peeled Dried red chilli - 3-4 (or as per spice level) Kashmiri Red Chilli powder – 1-2 (optional -for colour) Coconut oil/ vegetable oil – 2 tsp Mustard seeds – 1 tsp Curry leaves – a sprig Method : Peel the skin of raw banana and cut it lengthwise and keep it in water (to avoid changing colour/ discolouration) Now, take a sauce pan/ pan and add the cut raw banana, to it add just enough water to cover the raw banana, add turmeric powder, salt needed.  Cook the raw banana until soft but not mushy. Black Eyed Beans with Spinach & Tomato

A refreshing and light dish, this is easy to make and is very versatile - you can make using other pulses as well. You can serve this over plain rice or with chappati to make a meal. The recipe is quick to make once the onion, garlic and tomatoes have been chopped – just 15 minutes or so. I usually add less yoghurt or curd, but you can make it milder if you like to- just add more yoghurt. Lets see how its done.   This Andhra Green chilly chicken I made once just to change from the usual Chicken Curry  we make. I had seen this recipe in one of the Tv channels long back & I had quickly made some notes in my recipe diary. I knew my better half loves Andhra cuisine but I still wasn't sure how this chicken curry would turn out to be. To my surprise, it was BIG hit. Olan - Ash Gourd - Lentil Kerala curry

   Olan is a classic Kerala dish made with ash gourd and cowpea / black eyed pea. This simple recipe comes together in no time. With just few ingredients, this recipe is super easy and healthy as well. Diced ash gourd is simmered in coconut milk along with the curry leaves and green chillies. Egg Potato ki Sabji/Stir fry

This is my most favourite dish which I have relished since I was a 5 year old kid. This is special and close to my heart dish, since it is my dad's recipe and this was staple meal for us every sat. Extremely easy and tasty. Perfect with some simple rice and dal/lentils.  Lets see how its done.  Ingredients:  1 big potato cut and boiled 3 to 4 eggs boiled, peeled 1 onion chopped 2-3 Green chillies slit 1 tsp Mustard seeds  1 tsp urad dal (optional) 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder 1 tsp chilli powder (or as per preference) Salt as per taste  Cooking oil 2-3 Tbsp Coriander Handful for garnish  Method:  Cut the potato and boil it in some water.
