Vegetable Tahiri - One Pot Meal

This recipe is something I cook usually when I have to finish all my veggies in the refrigerator or when I am in no mood for an elaborate cook. This dish is mild in flavour and hence perfect for kids. This recipe fits the bill and is perfect for those moody days. So let's see how a quick and tasty vegetable tahiri is made. Ingredients:  See Notes ** Washed and soaked basmati rice - 2 cups  Oil  2 tbsp Cumin seeds  Chopped Garlic - 4-5 pods (optional) Chopped onions -2 Ginger Garlic paste - 1Tbsp Veggies of your choice -handful each ** Tomatoes chopped 2 medium size Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Chilli powder- 2 tsp Coriander powder - 2 tsp Cumin powder 1/2 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)- a pinch Thick Curd - 2 Tbsp Salt as per taste  Water -4 cups (double the rice) Chopped coriander - for garnish  Method:   Take a pan, add in oil, splutter some cumin seeds add in chopped garlic - you can skip garlic if you would like to.  Add in sliced onions and ...

Coriander Pulao | Kothamali Rice - One pot Meal

Any type of pulao or pilaf is one pot rice made with aromatic spices and herbs. In India, there are many types of pulao made and relished like vegetable pulao, matar (Peas) pulao, Kashmiri pulao, coconut pulao. Check other quick One pot meals here. Todays dish is quick and easy Coriander Pulao which can also be made with leftover rice as well as like a normal pulao. It goes well with onion or Boondi Raita. I usually add vegetables to this to make it wholesome meal, but you can also make it as a simple plain coriander pulao and it still will be tasty. Lets see how's this done. Aloo - Gobi Tehri/Pulao - One pot meal

Tahiri or Tehri is a one pot dish which is similar to a pulao. A popular Awadhi recipe from Uttar Pradesh, its somewhere between a veg pulao and veg biriyani. Usually a Vegetarian Tahiri uses potatoes, cauliflower and peas, but there are many ways people make it and you can add other veggies as well. I had seen this one many years ago on a TV show and attempted it. Since then it's one of our favorites. Here I usually make only with potatoes and cauliflower. Sometimes I do add Peas but not always. This time its just Aloo Gobi Tahiri or Tehri. It is very similar to making a veg pulao as mentioned but not all masala's go in this one. Its tasty and easy as well. Let's see how it's done.
