These Sweet Fried Plantains are crispy on the outside, soft inside. The trick to good plantains is to let them get all the way ripe; which is a lot of black on the skin, that's when they are the sweetest. I make these with ghee and also sprinkle a little bit of nuts powder (which I make at home) and cinnamon powder. My kid loves this and has these even with his roti. Lets get started.
Ingredients:
- Plantains or ethekkya- 2 sliced round
- Ghee- 2 Tsp
- Cinnamon Powder- 1/2 tsp (Optional)
- Nuts Powder-1/2 tsp (Optional)
- Honey - to drizzle (optional)
Method:
- Simply cut the plantains into 1/2 inch rounds
- Keep a taw, drizzle the ghee on it
- Once its little hot, add these cut plantains (Ethekkya) and fry each side until its nice golden brown
- Sprinkle nuts powder, cinnamon powder and drizzle some honey over it (This is optional)
- Serve hot as it is or make it as a sandwich or with roti
